A guide to research, never a finding of fact. A hypothesis is a possibility to test. AI can be wrong, invent details, or miss context. Agreement with AI is not corroboration.
Actively seek evidence that could clear a person or organization and disprove your own theory. Failure to prove innocence is not evidence of guilt. Do not force the record into one answer; multiple explanations or an unresolved result may remain.
How it will work
- State your explanation first. Record your hypothesis and what could change your mind before seeing AI suggestions.
- Build an evidence ledger. Add source references, dates, relevant passages, and information both for and against the theory.
- Test alternatives. Look for innocent explanations, missing context, and evidence that would distinguish competing possibilities.
- Compare and keep researching. Review an AI assessment alongside your own thinking, then identify the next record needed. AI output will remain labeled as unverified.
